#3729 Principal – Technology, Web Development

Crimson Consulting Group is seeking a Principal to lead and manage our Technology Web Development Practice. Reporting to the Partner-in-Charge of the assigned engagements, the Crimson Principal will lead the development, delivery, and support of Web Development projects, including design, architectural fit and compliance, resources, schedules and delivery milestones, and overall quality. In addition, the ideal candidate will with work with Crimson management to guide our web development, architecture, standards, tools and methodologies.

This position requires the ability to direct and balance a variety of diverse - and sometimes conflicting – requests, priorities, and activities. Candidates will need management skill combined with the flexibility to interact with people at all levels. In addition, the candidate will need to have an extensive understanding of marketing web infrastructure, particularly as leveraged by our clients in the high tech industry both for their customers and their channel partners.

Principal responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Understanding and documenting clients business and technology requirements
• Creation of proposals, statements of work and project plans
• Participate in business development activities for the company
• With a Partner, manage the client sponsors and their expectations throughout the engagement
• Manage client engagements via project management skills (scope, budget, timeline, deliverables, contingencies, etc.)
• Recruit and manage a team of leading web technology professionals: developers, information architects, designers
• Support the building and management of various aspects of Crimson's infrastructure to ensure the firm's overall success

MUST HAVE:

• 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following roles: Web Development, Information Architecture or Web Program Management
• 3+ years experience in managing technical web development professionals
• Knowledge of web development, architecture, connectivity technologies, web hosting, advanced network protocols, client-server technologies, applications development and multi-vendor environments
• A thorough understanding of information architecture and user experience best practices
• Experience working with media, technology and internet companies and an understanding of the marketing infrastructure they leverage, both B-to-B and B-to-C and leveraging channels and partners.
• A sound understanding of content management systems
• Web Development experience - HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript Architecture, AJAX
• Search engine optimization
• Rich internet application development - Flash, Flex, ActionScript, Java
• Knowledge and experience with user centered design practices
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Success at achieving advanced technology goals on-time and on-budget
• A BS, ideally in computer science or equivalent experience

STRONGLY PREFER:

• Experience with one of the following Interactive consulting firms: Organic, Digitas, RazorFish, Avenue A, Frog Design, Sapient or similar
• Experience in a management role working on engagements for Fortune 500 high tech companies
• Experience managing remote/outsourced teams

Location: Bay Area, (off-site flexibility)
Duration: Contract to Full-time, long term
