YouTube Channel - Social Media Marketing Strategy

Crimson conducted an assessment and devised an overall strategy for the YouTube news site at a Fortune 50 network infrastructure company. As part of the analysis, Crimson researched best practices for enterprises and identified the leading YouTube channels. Crimson produced and recommended next steps for content, site look and feel, linkages with other channels such as with client's partners, and proposed guidelines to roll out the program globally.

CHALLENGES

  • Many stakeholders within our client were providing YouTube content
  • Merging channels on YouTube was highly manual and required source files

SOLUTIONS

  • Developed strategy to execute a news channel on YouTube which houses Corporate PR and Corporate Communications videos
  • Helped identify content that would attract new subscribers and increase the activities (including rankings and comments) of members
  • Created a fun vibe that entices new subscribers to participate and view content
  • Provided a mechanism for partners to share and use client's content

RESULTS

  • Launched the client's channel on YouTube, posting over 400 videos in the first 12 months
  • Content successfully consolidated, attracting over 700 subscribers to the client's channel

Crimson worked with a Fortune 50 storage provider to identify social marketing opportunities with their solution provider partners. The client's goal was to explore less traditional marketing vehicles to communicate thier unique value propositions to their channels and to enable their channel solution providers to more effectively exchange information and provide feedback.

  • Conducted market research and quantitative studies to understand how social media is used in IT and the storage industry
